OpenID is one useful option for using one user name and one password on many sites while your password is checked only by one site which had issued the OpenID to you.

Actually I've eben thinking about this a lot lately. and one thing your post didn't touch on is the fact that we have two sets of 101 passwords, one for home and one for work. It seems like it's only going to get worse too. . .

Passwords can be a difficult thing.
Do you have a diffrent password for each site/device, then end up forgetting them all and writing them down or do you use a few passwords and have weaker security?

Use a base and numbers. Assign each site a number, and you can either remember the number of the site, or write it down. You don't need to note down the password anywhere in writing, but you'll know what it is.

I put them into a table and categorize them by type of website. Like all of my emails go into one table. all the forums go into another table. All of the social bookmarking sites go into another one and so forth. Then just print everything out and keep it in a drawer near your computer for safety purposes. Every time you go into a new site that requires a new password, never sign up without first writing it down. The big problem is if you lose this master list- so back it up somewhere. There's also keepass (software) which will keep your passwords encrypted and it's free but I haven't figured out how to use that yet.
All the best,
Eren

I used to write my passwords in my phone. I saved them in a draft sms. When you type several passwords one after the other they make no sense. Just have to figure out how to define (separate) each of the passwords
