Advertising with Crayon Writer

Crayon Writer has been around for more than a year, and it’s attracting a variety of visitors. I use Entrecard.com to boost my daily readership, and I have loyal subscribers as well. I’ve also been receiving inquiries about advertising with Crayon Writer, so it makes sense to make it easier for you.

You’ll notice the new advertising spots in the side columns. The smaller spaces are for 125×125 pixel ads, while the large one on top is negotiable (currently it’s 300×300).

The rates on the Advertise page are also negotiable. If you want to purchase several months in advance, I know we can work out a deal.

Why advertise on a blog? Readers are more likely to go directly to an advertised spot. Paper ads mean the reader has to put down the paper, pick up their phone or go to their computer, and then dial or type in the information. Advertising online just makes sense.

Have you ever advertised on a blog? How did it work for you?

Best way to go about this, I guess, is to keep a healthy mix of advertisers, including those with whom you can negotiate directly, and others from Ad networks like TextLinkads, Kontera and Adsense. Not so hard to make $500 to $700. If, that is, you can remember at least once a day that you own a blog… :)

LOL! I do forget from time-to-time that I have a blog. But I can always count on you to remind me.

I forgot about TextLinkAds. I’ll go take care of that right now. Or maybe I should sell text ads myself…decisions, decisions.

  3. I’ve just been using entrecard to advertise on others blog. It works fine for me. You have a wonderful blog by the way. :)

  4. I’m a big fan of Adsense. After all, it is run by the biggest advertiser on Earth. Having said that, the content on Crayon Writer is unlikely to generate many relevant Adsense ads, so targeting your visitors directly through various affiliate programs is probably your most profitable route.

It’s good to hear you are making progress with the blog. I know it can be hard sometimes. I never forget about blogging, but sometimes I wish I can :) It can dry me up like nothing else. But I still love it. Go figure.

  6. I really like the look and feel of your site. It’s clean and uncluttered, so I think ads will stand out and get some good traffic. You’ve created an excellent forum here and I hope your attempts to monetize go well.

  10. I like to monetize in many different ways, but it depends on the niche. I haven’t yet stepped up to private ad sales, but I know it works for many.

  12. Its nice to see that you are expanding and now are letting advertising in to your site. You just have to be weary about specific types of advertising as they can cheapen the overall look of a site, but I wish you the best of luck with it.
