Weekly Websites: Los Angeles Federal Attorneys

As you may or may not know, I was going to be a lawyer in my past life. So anything law-related catches my eye, and we all know that the legal system needs plenty of good writers. If you’re a freelance writer, make sure to approach lawyers too.
Though I was primarily interested in being a prosecutor, I know that our justice system isn’t complete without good defense attorneys. After all, being accused of a crime doesn’t mean you’re guilty. And even if you are, the punishment should fit the crime. Defense attorneys are critical to help keep things fair.
If you are a resident of Los Angeles and you need a federal criminal lawyer, or a federal courthouse lawyer, check out the Los Angeles Federal Attorneys Lawyers site.
The site is full of information about how the federal system works in Los Angeles, California, including federal sentencing guidelines.
Even if you’re not in LA, you might learn something new about how the criminal justice system works. It’s fascinating, whether or not you agree with it (part of the reason I decided not to pursue criminal law).

So you decided not to pursue criminal law because you don’t agree with the criminal justice system? That’s interesting. Exactly what is it that you find disagreeable?
Sentencing was too arbitrary, and too often it seemed like harsh sentences were given when they should have been weaker, and weak ones when they should have been harsher. And what constitutes a high-level crime was out of whack too. Martha Stewart stealing money and getting months of jail time when many domestic violence offenders get probation/slaps on the wrist.
It’s just crazy, and I’d have to be in legislation to change things, not prosecution. I couldn’t bear hearing about woman after woman getting abused or killed while their offenders barely got slapped. And there was one case where a guy got severe jail time for finding/keeping/stealing a small military item because it was government property.
Sadly, it’s better for a criminal to abuse his wife or girlfriend than it is to steal her car. The latter is a felony. The former is barely a misdemeanor.
That’s why I couldn’t do it. I’d have to be a bankruptcy lawyer if I did law now. Just writing about the injustices makes me upset now. I’d better stop.
Thanks for asking!
Oh yeah. Domestic violence. Kinda slipped my mind. Didn’t mean to get you all worked up, though. Here’s something which might help you lighten up. http://www.verbalcartoonist.com/images/041.jpg
Yeah, I can get worked up on the topic of domestic violence. I must have talked about it here before?
Thanks for the joke. It was ridiculous.
Having good and understandable information on how legal system works like on web site you reviewed is always useful tho hopefully one will never really need it, no matter whether someone agrees with how criminal justice system works or not.

HELPLINE FOR LEGAL SYSTEM IS APPRECIABLE AND I THINK IT WILL HELP COMMON MAN TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE LAW AS WELL.
One design suggestion: make the width of the content column a bit larger. Right now it is too narrow.
Cheers
exactly. Make the content width larger.
