Possibly it is some rogue server permissions (drop me an email with more details and I may be able to help as I build Wordpress solutions as part of my day-job). Wordpress 2.5 is very solid. Bugs are minor unless you are in the business of creating heavily customised templates. However, I suggest you try BlogDesk.

It’s a free download, and I find it much easier to compose posts in BlogDesk than in the WordPress (even when it’s working right). You can do all the formatting, insert images – everything just like you do in WordPress. When you press Publish, the post is posted to your blog.

Of course, you first have to set BlogDesk up so it knows where to post, but that’s simple to do, and once done, you don’t have to mess with it again unless you change/add categories.
