Hey Theda,

I stayed away from work until about 7pm Christmas evening. We had wrapped everything up, the baby was napping and Olivia was entertained by whatever her father was doing.

During the day I selfishly used the time that everyone was holding Bri to take a break period. I got to eat a meal uninterrupted. Had at least 2 full conversations that had no mention of children...It was nice!

<em>Terreece's last blog post..<a href='http://freelancewritingjobsandmore.blogspot.com/2007/12/uma-oprah-terreece.html'>Uma, Oprah, Terreece...</a></em>

It's funny, my family often assumes that I won't be working on a certain day, like the weekend, for whatever reason. I keep trying to tell them that I'm always working, or if I'm not, I should be. LOL! I finally told them today that to really make things work, I need about 60 hours each week. Or more. Devoted only to my work (not housework, shopping, running errands, or whatever...working!) I think they're finally beginning to understand.

Hi Lillie! Merry Christmas to you too! I keep planning to resubscribe to your feed (I lost all my feeds when my computer crashed). I'm glad to you hear from you. Thanks for thinking of me.

Theda,
We are a lot alike that is how I defined my Christmas. My daughter was entertained, and it gave me a chance to catch up on work that I normally struggle with when she is running on all cylinders. :-)

I don't think I ever stop working. I've been working for myself part-time for about six years two of those years were full time. I worked for myself full-time in 2004 and decided to go back into a working environment simply because I wanted to see how it would be working for a nonprofit agency.

One of my long-term goals is to open my own non profit organization. The focus will be on health and wellness which explains why my freelance writing is focused on that area. It's something I'm passionate about, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. :-)

My daughter did the same thing when she was your daughters age. Guess what? My nephew did the same thing on Christmas Eve. He's nine months old. He was happy playing with the wrapping paper. :-)
