Online article writing for pay
I’ve finally decided to try writing online articles for pay.
I’ve heard a lot about Associated Content, and I’m going to try a little experiment. My plan is to submit 50 articles, some exclusive and some I’ve already published. The point is to see if someone, namely me, can make a living from AC, or at least a nice side income. I got this idea from ChrisBlogging, a great freelance writing blog I just found out about.
One of the things that attracted me to AC is that I can write about whatever I want, and possibly get paid for it. Even though I call myself a freelance writer, I don’t spend a lot of time writing unless it’s for a client. This experiment should be a great way to exercise my writing (and typing) skills, and hopefully I’ll make some extra money at the same time.
Stay tuned for updates. Once I have at least 5 offers, I’ll let you know what’s going on. From my understanding it takes about two weeks for articles to be reviewed.
If you’ve tried Associated Content, what do you think about it?

I started using Associated Content a few weeks ago. Their turnaround time is very good after my articles were approved I received payment via paypal within two days.
You also make money two ways upfront payment and residual payment. I submitted a few articles I had published on my alternative healing website but from now on I believe it will be exclusive content.
I’ve written about them a few times over the past few weeks.
Hi Opal,
Your site was what finally pushed me over the edge, as far as joining AC (or finally submitting an article).
So far, the one they agreed to publish did get fast (low) pay. We’ll see how it goes. Thanks for dropping by. We have SO much in common!
Sure you can make money writing for AC. Question is, are you getting what your writing is worth? You should focus on trying to get hold of clients via Craigslist, rather than AC. If need some ideas or support, maybe you should try to hang around the absolutewrite.com forums.
Thanks for the comment. I will definitely check out absolutewrite.com. I’m starting to land some Craigslist gigs too. I think I was pricing too high for what people wanted in the past. I’m doing better now, I hope.
Drop by again!
I heard a lot about Associated Content. But I am not sure if they really pay handsomely.Kidding aside, best of luck on your article writing career.
Thanks! I’m not sure it’ll be worth my while either, but when I’m not working on other assignments or marketing, I can spend a little time writing for them to make some much needed cash.
If anyone ever thought about donating, now would be a great time. Things are very tough now, so I’m accepting any and all gigs, no matter the price.
The main thing about associate writing is that they take a lot of time to appprove your posts as well as you have to be really good in getting people to hire you or your posts
I will definitely keep this in mind. Thanks for the comment!
Hey Theda,
Craigslist is cool and I’ve gotten some great gigs there, but it was a heckofa lot of effort for like 5% payoff. Here’s a couple of cool job sites:
indeed.com
freelancewritinggigs.com – deb ng is awesome, great writing insight and some good jobs listed
then i did a quick google search, went to the top freelance writing gig sites joined if need be, added them to my feed reader and then I just browse them as they pop up. Sites like Problogger and b5media are always posting jobs to their feed.
Good hints. I’ll be trying them very soon. You know how tough it is with a little one. So little time, so much to do.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
[...] written a few articles for Associated Content now, as I said I would in a previous post. I’m not thrilled, I must say. Sure, there’s a learning curve as to what they want, but [...]
I also focus my energy on Article Writing. Article writing also promotes your website and branding. “`
